With the goal of uniting the Y.C.S of Kasaragod Deanery, "YUVASAMAVESH 2024" was organized on October 2, 2024. The event commenced at 9 a.m. at St Mary College, Bela, with the participation of 140 students. The programme opened with a prayer song led by the Bela unit, seeking God's blessings for the day.

Kasaragod Deanery; Mr Sunil Crasta and Sr Reena, Animators of Kasaragod Deanery; Mr Cyril Crasta and Mrs Cicilia Dsouza, Vice President and Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) of Bela; Sr Jancy, Superior of the Sisters of Charity, Bela; Jeshmitha Dsouza and Rishel Rhea, President and Secretary of Kasaragod Deanery YCS; along with Sharan Roy, Secretary of Bela YCS Unit.
Ms Rishel Rhea, Secretary of Kasaragod Deanery YCS, compered the inauguration programme. Ms Jeshmitha Dsouza, President of Kasaragod Deanery YCS, extended a warm welcome to everyone present.
Rev. Fr Rocky Ravi Fernandes, Principal of St Mary College, Bela, presided as the president of the programme. He officially inaugurated the event by unveiling the ‘YUVASAMAVESH 2024’ poster.
Following the inauguration, Rev. Fr Anil Francis Pinto, Director of Kasaragod Deanery YCS, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of YCS (Young Catholic Students) and how the Yuvasamavesh event serves as a crucial platform for youth engagement. His address was followed by an inspiring message from Mr Cyril Crasta, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council of Bela, who motivated the young participants to make well use of the opportunities provided through Y.C.S. programmes.
During the event, the animators from each parish were recognized and honoured for their dedicated service. Rev. Fr Rocky Ravi Fernandes, who presided over the programme, shared a meaningful message with the youth, stressing the importance of personal growth and how Y.C.S. plays a pivotal role in shaping the lives of young people by offering them guidance and developmental opportunities.
Ms Prarthana Dsouza, Treasurer of Kasaragod Deanery Y.C.S., delivered a the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the organizers, guests, and participants for their contributions to the event’s success.
The second session of the day was filled with energy as the YCS Central Council led the participants in action songs, energising the atmosphere. This was followed by an insightful motivational talk by Rev. Fr Roshan D'cunha, Director of YCS for the Mangalore Diocese. He touched on topics such as youth motivation, personality development, service to the parish, and the importance of active involvement in church activities. A demonstration of a cell meeting was also conducted to help participants understand how to organize and facilitate such meetings in their own parishes.
After lunch, Rev. Fr Alwyn Richard Dsouza, Director of the Family Life Service Centre in the Mangalore Diocese, led a session on marriage and family life. He discussed the importance of building strong relationships and preparing for family life. Participants were then divided into ten groups for games and activities that fostered teamwork, mutual encouragement, and active participation in group efforts.
As the event drew to a close, Rev. Fr Stany Pereira, Dean of Kasaragod Deanery and Parish Priest of Bela Parish, shared an inspiring message with the youth. Rev. Fr. Anil Pinto, Director of YCS, also expressed his appreciation to all those who supported and encouraged the event.
The convention concluded at 4:00 p.m. with the singing of the YCS Anthem, marking the successful end of a meaningful and enriching day.
